Tenant Guide to Property Management

Whether you are a first-time renter or have years of experience living in rented properties, navigating the world of property management can often be confusing and overwhelming. With ever-changing regulations and numerous parties involved, it’s easy to feel lost in this process.

That’s why we have put together this comprehensive tenant guide to property management – our mission is to empower you with knowledge so that you can confidently manage your tenancy and ensure a smooth and stress-free renting experience. So let’s dive in!

Step 1: Getting Ready to Move In

After your offer is accepted and references are verified, you’ll be introduced to your property manager, who will share their contact details. If agreed upon, they’ll commence the preparation of your property for move-in, including any negotiated works, organizing a professional clean, and ensuring all necessary compliance certificates are obtained.

Step 2: Moving In

From the beginning of your tenancy, your property manager will be available to address any questions. You’ll receive details of our out-of-hours contractor and, upon agreement, we’ll update the local council, and provide information on utility providers and media package options based on the inventory and check-in.

Step 3: Your Duties

Once you’ve moved into your new home, your property manager will be your primary contact for any related queries, including maintenance issues. As a tenant, it’s your responsibility to inform us of any problems at the property so we can provide assistance as needed.

Step 4: Regular Maintenance

If a contractor needs to visit due to a reported issue, we’ll seek the landlord’s instructions and arrange a convenient time for you. At the property, a quote may be necessary and will need the landlord’s approval. The work might be done immediately, or a revisit could be scheduled.

Step 5: Property Inspections

A property inspection will be conducted at least once every 3 months. These visits aim to report on the property’s condition without infringing on your privacy. The report will be shared with the landlord to address any concerns. If there are specific issues you want us to focus on, please let us know before the visit.
